Sónia Soares graduated in Chemical Engineering in 2007 and obtained her master in Chemical Engineering in 2008 both at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) (Portugal).
Later, she obtained her PhD in Sustainable Chemistry in 2017 at the University of Porto (Portugal).
Currently, she is a Post-Doctoral research at the REQUIMTE/LAQV at the Faculty of Science at the University of Porto.
Her field of research concerns food chemistry, analytical chemistry, food quality and authenticity, molecular biology and DNA based methods. Recently, she has been involved in projects dealing with the polyphenols interaction with salivary proteins and model epithelial cell membranes.
