Patrícia Correia graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Porto in 2015.
In 2016 she collaborated with the Pharmacognosy group of FFUP as a trainee researcher, focusing her research activities on the evaluation of the antidepressive and antioxidant potential of medicinal plants.
She proceeded her academic course in Braga and obtained her master’s degree in Applied Biochemistry at the University of Minho in 2018. During that period, she worked with skin related bacterial strains as well as human melanoma skin cells as part of her master thesis project.
Currently, Patrícia is part of both Antho4skin and Winput projects and is involved in the assessment of biological properties of anthocyanins and derivatives to evaluate its potential use for both therapeutic and cosmetic fields.
At the moment, Patrícia Correia is a PhD student in the Sustainable Chemistry Doctoral Programme of LAQV-REQUIMTE and has a FCT PhD grant attributed by the Portuguese Chemistry Society (SPQ) in 2020.
Her interests and activities go beyond science, as she is a federated basketball athlete, currently playing in the Portuguese women’s first division. Moreover, she is a youth basketball coach, working with kids under the age of 10.
